Pawsitively Life-Changing: Embrace the Love of being a Dog Parent🐾
How Getting Dogs(Pets) Transforms Your Life! 🐶❣️
Living the best one as a parent to two Golden Retrievers and a Shih Tzu ❤️
I’ve been an avid animal lover and nature keeper for as long as I can remember. I rush down to the streets to play with the street dogs when I get time from work. After all, they are the best companions one can get. My heart finds its greatest joy in the company of animals.
Each of us has our own unique definition of a best friend. It’s someone with whom you can share precious moments, free from judgment, and who remains faithfully by your side through life’s most challenging times. For me, it’s my kids- my Doggos namely, Bunny, Jerry, and Oreo. And all they want in return is your time and love! It’s truly heartwarming. And of course, not to forget.. your face too to get licked by them all the time!
Now, as instructed by them, allow me to introduce my furry companions:
Bunny
Age: approaching 3 years! 🥹❤️
Strengths:
- Cute infectious smile with the ability to make puppy face 😆
- Whimpering .. he can get literally anything making those puppy sounds🥺
- Getting into the smallest unreachable places in the house
- Ignoring human calls and responding to ‘treats’
Likes:
- Eating 🍗 and sleeping
- Park-walks
- Ear-rubs.. he has got big retriever ears to play with!
- Licking Jerry’s face
Dislikes:
- Human touch
- Licking human.. including me 😭
The eldest one. We got him in December 2020. He has got all the love and attention from Day 1. I break into a big smile remembering those puppy days!
It was winter here so we used to make sure he got the extra warmth. We got used to waking up at 3 AM to feed him.. sometimes getting frightened for not finding him anywhere but along the Royal Canin(his feed) in the Kitchen.
Being a novice at petting dogs, the Vet’s contact was on our speed dial 😂 We loved letting him snuggle with us in our bed all the time and the endless play sessions of chasing each other around are worth mentioning! Those were the days filled with boundless joy just like today! 🥰
Those days definitely brought out the inner parents in us kids! Our older generation too appreciated the kindness of these souls and the happiness they brought into our lives. As Bunny grew, so did his mischievous spirit, hence the concerns of the elders in our family. That time made us kids realize the greater responsibility for the delightful chaos he brought into our lives.
Just when the family thought we would train him for good and reduce the mess, we got another one!!!! 🥁🐶😛
Jerry
Age: 2.5 years! 🥹❤️
Strengths:
- Always cheerful, happy and excited 🐶
- Lying on top of us. He treats us like his pillows 🥰 You try to move him aside when he sits on you… nah not possible!
- Incredibly fast, strong and fearless. He’s undeniably a Rottweiler in a Golden Retriever’s skin
- Attracting people by Grunting and making ‘owwwww’ sound. Not sure if he’s got some Husky skills as well
Likes:
- Sharing food, well not his, but getting humans to share their food during mealtime
- Park walks, at least 5 times a day!
- Belly rubs.. lying on the back and asking to get some is his hobby
- Licking my face 🤪 and playing all the time!
Dislikes:
- When he doesn’t get what he truly desires 😂
Jerry is our plumpy and food-loving kiddo! We welcomed him into our family in June 2021 to be the perfect partner for Bunny. We weren’t sure if Bunny would treat him as his younger brother. He sniffed Jerry a lot as if making sure he was of no harm to us. To our surprise, they both got along in no time! It truly showcased Bunny’s caring nature as the elder one and made him more mature. He took it upon himself to teach Jerry all the essential skills a mischievous puppy should have! 😉
As the younger one, Jerry is the cutest and most playful of the bunch! Attention girls, he’s capable of pulling hairbands off your head in no time😂 While Bunny is the calm one, Jerry is his polar opposite.
For all the pet owners out there, if you’re thinking about adding a new furry member to your family, I strongly recommend considering getting atleast a couple of them. It’s not only twice the love but also provides companionship and endless fun for your pets, making their lives more enjoyable.
They like to wrestle and chase each other around the house. It looks like they’re fighting, but it’s just a fun game they enjoy:
️
I’ve come to the realization that raising a pet isn’t always easy, but every bit of tiredness simply melts away when I see that heartwarming, cute smile on their face. 🥰
Owning and caring for dogs can teach us to find joy in little things and love unconditionally 🫶🏻
They also possess unmatched loyalty, emphasizing the importance of staying committed to our loved ones.️ ❤️
Finally, dogs accept us as we are, flaws and all, encouraging self-acceptance in our own lives. 🙏🏻
I’m forever grateful for the incredible love and companionship of my furry kids.
